Younas, a fourth-year LLB student at the University of Balochistan and President of BSO Quetta (Zone), was also abducted from his home in Quetta on the night of July 24.
The BSO Central Information Secretary stated that the organization demands the immediate release of both Jiand and Younas, calling their renewed abduction a serious injustice. He further informed that Jiand Baloch is a peaceful political activist who works for students’ democratic rights. He has been placed on the Fourth Schedule, his ID card and bank account have been blocked for the past year, and his movement has been restricted.
Ali Abdullah Khan, President of the Progressive Students Collective (PSC), strongly condemned the act, calling it a shameful move by the authorities. “PSC stands with the families of Jiand and Younas,” he said. “We demand the immediate release of our comrades. He further added that PSC have consistently maintained their stance that enforced disappearances are the worst form of state brutality and this action achieves nothing as silencing of those voices who critique state policies only create more resentment towards those policies and authorities”
