Student Leader Ghani Aman Abducted from Karachi

Karachi : A student activist and leader of the Sindhian National Students Federation (SNSF), Ghani Aman Chandio, has been forcibly disappeared by Rangers and police in plainclothes from a private hospital in Karachi on the 28th of October 2025.

According to reports, the activist was taken away while he was at the hospital for his daughter’s treatment. Speaking to the media, Ghani Aman’s sister said that “the abductors were in plainclothes and Rangers uniforms, and they arrested Ghani in front of his family before disappearing him.” His mother stated that Ghani is a peaceful and progressive activist from Sindh, calling the abduction a violation of human rights and demanding his immediate release.

In reaction to the forced abduction of Ghani Aman, students organizations and political groups from across the country have issued condemnation statements. Protests are underway in various parts of Sindh, with demonstrators demanding Ghani’s immediate release.

Central President of the Progressive Students Collective, Ali Abdullah Khan also condemned Ghani’s forcible abduction, calling the action a severe violation of human rights. He said,  “Such practices have become institutionalized and are a shameful treatment of political workers and dissenting voices.Instead of political diseent, enforced disappearances should be criminalized.” He demanded the immediate release of Ghani Aman, Sarmad Mirani, and all missing persons.
