Lahore: Progressive Students Collective has announced that it will organize a conference titled “People’s Assembly for Political Rights” on 16 November 2025 at the Durab Patel Auditorium, Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP).
According to details, PSC is organizing such a conference in the wake of extreme political repression and crackdown, so that activists and political workers who are right now resisting such oppression can gather together from all parts of the country to initiate a political dialogue to create a way forward and to build solidarity.
Speaking to the Student Herald, President of Progressive Students Collective, Ali Abdullah Khan, said that “the current regime has implemented a quasi martial law and has been detaining and abducting voices that are speaking against it, and that it is high time that people from all walks of life, whether students, lawyers, professors, and activists, should come together to mount resistance to such human rights abuses and to build a pathway which can lead to resistance.”
